Kanda Sasti KavasamÐ

He composed 6 Kavasams one each to 6 abodes. Like the shield saves the body of the soldier this will save both body and soul. By reciting this you can get cure from your diseases.

Inscriptions

9th century A.D

During 875 A.D Varagunan who ruled this area gave 1400 gold coins for interest to village Sabhas around Tiruchendur to conduct the  worship of Lord Muruga. Every village should give rice, ghee, curd, banana, sugar, coconut, flower, Thoopam (paper, turmeric, cumin, custard, coriander etc). Stone inscription 16A/S11/Vol IV. This should be given in double during festival season.

1912 No 28

Kollam year 621 (A.D 1447), The information is that the land was sold for 630 " Kaliyugaraman money"  to perform pooja for Nakiradeva Nayanar in the Subramania pillaiyar  Temple in Trichendur.

1903 No 155

 Round letter inscription informs that king Varaguna donated liberally for the annual expenditure of this temple.

1903 No 156

    The information in the insciption at local Sivakkolundeeswarar temple is during Kollam year 650 (1476 A.D) Tiruchendur was called as Thirubhuvana Madevi Sathurvedi Mangalam.  Through a small Inscription we are informed that the idol of Arumuga Peruman stolen by Dutch Pirates was redeemed during the year 1653 A.D by Thiumalai Naikar.
